Palm Cove, Far North Queensland Paradise – 17th November 2013

To all my fellow Australians, put your passports away and visit a tropical paradise located on your very own doorstep. Palm Cove, located 30 mins or 26 km from the Cairns Airport, is small beachside community that has been described to me as having an island feel without the boat ride! Get comfortable at one of many amazing restaurants or cafes order a cocktail and look out across the palm tree lined beach and out to the blue waters of the Coral Sea.

This is not only for the love struck couples, although it is a perfect place for any kind of romantic celebration and if your romantic holidays have now turned into the family kind, well don’t you worry there are plenty of kid friendly activities to keep the most energetic child (or adult for that matter) busy! Just up the road is Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures and the Cairns Zoo which guarantees hours of fun for all!

Great thing about the location of Palm Cove is of course its gorgeous natural setting but it’s also half between Cairns and Port Douglas, with easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage Rainforest.  Take a cruise to one of the islands or the outer reef, jump on a 4wd tour into the depths of the oldest rainforest in the world or take the scenic train to “Kuranda the village in the sky” to enjoy the markets before returning on the afternoon Skyrail over the Barron Falls.

The resorts here are so welcoming and comfortable, not to mention luxurious, you may find it hard to venture away from the poolside lounger!
