Angsana Resort & Spa No Cyclone Guarantee for Christmas! – 17th November 2013
Posted on November 17, 2013 by Sophie Tabouel
Luxury Palm Cove Hotel Gives Travellers a No Cyclone Guarantee for Christmas!
The Angsana Resort and Spa in Palm Cove Cairns is offering all guests a “No Cyclone Guarantee” if they book and stay from December to March 2014 (block out dates apply). These months are known to have the reputation of being the period with the highest probability of a cyclone.
The reason behind this “No Cyclone Guarantee” campaign is to show the travelling public that they have the confidence and the knowledge of the region and to prove to guests that travelling over these months in Cairns is no different than going to Bali, Thailand, Fiji, Vanuatu or anywhere else in the tropics during the Christmas holiday period and they are prepared to take the punt and put their money where their mouth is and offer guests a replacement holiday should they be evacuated from the Angsana Resort and Spa hotel during their stay .
Tourists have been flocking to the Great Barrier Reef in their millions since the late 70’s and 80’s without any major incidents and or accidents concerning cyclones and this Palm Cove Resort has put it out there to prove that very point .
The team at Angsana Resort and Spa say that our cyclones and storms are far less frequent than the storms that the southern states of Australia experience year round. The weather in Cairns is far more stable and reliable than anywhere else across Australia and even when it rains you can feel the warm rain drops. In the tropics you could be on one side of the street where it is raining and the other side of the street it is dry as toast.
Over the Christmas period Cairns and Tropical North Queensland comes alive with animal activity both on the Great Barrier Reef and in the rainforests. This is the time of year the trees are flowering and dropping fruits to the rainforest floor and this is when all of the exotic wildlife are on the move looking for mates and out and about with their offspring so it is a great time to see rare birds and climbing marsupials. The waterfalls are raging which is fantastic for the white water rafters or those looking for a great swimming and picnic spot.
The ocean is abundant with fish and marine life as this is the coral spawning season which means its buffet time for fish and they come from the world over to dine on coral spawn which means great fishing for those keen anglers. It’s also a great time to be snorkelling and scuba diving as not only is the marine life at is most amazing the water temperature is a balmy 28-28 degrees just like a bath (just the way the locals like it). At this time of year we do not have those trade winds buffeting the Antarctic winds which mean clear clean glassy days on the ocean so no seasickness. For more information on the weather in Cairns have a read of this article, Green Season
The Green Season really is a beautiful time of year to be holidaying in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.
Some tourists have a big fear of travelling to Cairns over the Christmas holiday period as they believe you cannot swim on the Great Barrier Reef. This is certainly not true and you should read this interview here for more factual information on Marine Stingers, Jellyfish, Irukanji and Box Jellyfish. Click here to put your mind at ease. Always keep in mind when travelling dress for the elements of Mother Nature and some of those elements are sunshine so ensure you slap on the sunscreen, mosquitoes so slap on the insect repellent when going into the rainforest, put on a lycra suit when going swimming on the Great Barrier Reef it is as easy and as hard as that.
