Ribbons - Great Barrier Reef Ribbons - Great Barrier Reef

Australia’s first and biggest Women’s only Game Fishing Tournament “The Ribbons” will celebrate its 30th year this weekend 6-8 December 2013.

The Ladies Event is to give thanks to the women behind the Big Game Fishery and is the Grand Finale to the Cairns Heavy Tackle Marlin Season.

Get down to the Marlin Marina in Cairns City bright and early this Saturday December 7th at 7am and watch the glorious sail past as all the decorated boats and female anglers in full costume show off their colours, a tradition that goes back 30 years!

The 2012 tournament was held in rather rough sea conditions but they had over 162 participants  with 11 Billfish tagged so let’s hope todays beautiful weather holds out for the weekend and if so they could all go skiing behind the boats on the way home.

Our company www.cairnsholidayspecialists.com.au is a proud sponsor of Leah Hancock and the “Fish Like a Girl” Team. Leah Hancock is our fishing expert at www.thetourspecialists.com . Keep an eye out for these young ladies on the fishing Charter vessel “Tradition”.

Does this sound like some fun that you would like to be involved in if so start planning your team for next year but make sure you jump to it as you need to book a year in advance if you want to fish the “Great Barrier Reef Ladies Ribbons”.

Game fishing charter boats in Cairns are already taking bookings for next year!
