Register Your Wedding Gives Cairns Underprivileged Kids Christmas Gifts in 2013

Register Your Wedding held its last event for 2013 on 5th December at the Angsana Resort and Spa restaurant Far Horizons where all of their wedding suppliers from the Cairns and Port Douglas region gathered to celebrate another year of love and friendship for Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.

The theme for this year’s Christmas party was black and white (not sure who came up with that or why but anyways) so everyone had to come dressed to suit the black and white theming for the evening under the stars on the beach at Palm Cove.

Our amazing group of Wedding suppliers all pulled together to make it a fun night and those that were extra special are the ones that kindly donated their own time and team to set up the restaurant for the evening.

The Cairns and Port Douglas wedding suppliers we want to say a big thank you to are:-

Deb and her team at By Design Weddings & Events for theming, Ben came along with his photo booths from Far North Photo Booths, Annette from Pink Moss set up with her lovely flower decorations, Nick and Dianne provided  the Audio Visual Solutions for the alluring atmosphere, Russell Harris Entertainment brought along his singing and guitar for entertainment and MC duties, Angsana Resort and Spa provided such a great venue and great staff, Big Cat Cruises and Cairns Harbour Cruises donated the lucky door prizes and Angsana again auctioned off a one bedroom pool view suite for one night with breakfast for two.

All wedding suppliers who attended this year’s Christmas party were to bring along a child’s Christmas gift so that we could then hand them all over the next day to the Cairns division of the Salvation Army so they can in turn wrap them and spread them amongst some of the underprivileged families of Cairns.

Astoundingly we managed to gather over 100 Christmas presents for the underprivileged children of Cairns along with $320 in cash from the Angsana bed and breakfast auction and several Great Barrier Reef tours with Big Cat Cruises to Green Island which is sure to bring lots of smiles to lots of families on Christmas Day 2013

Melanie from Register Your Wedding met with the Salvation Army team that came to pick up the children’s Christmas presents and she said they were so grateful and so pleased that they were all nearly crying. They could not believe how many Christmas presents we had gathered for them and they were also very grateful for the money and the Big Cat Great Barrier Reef Tours.

Now some of our Cairns Underprivileged kids and their Families will have a Merry Christmas too!

Other Wedding Networking Events in Cairns and Port Douglas

This is not the first time the Cairns and Port Douglas Wedding industry has given back to its community. At our last networking event that was held at the Cairns Hilton Hotel on 18th September and we raised hundreds of dollars for the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre which is run by Jenny Gilbert and all of her volunteers who look after rescued sea turtles 365 days a year and nurse them back to health and then release them back into the wild on the Great Barrier Reef.

These wedding networking evenings have really united all of the local wedding suppliers and given them the opportunity to get to know each other, get to know each other’s businesses and in turn they are now more knowledgeable about other suppliers which means they can make recommendations for each other to all of our wedding couples that come to our beautiful tropical region for their destination wedding and that was our sole goal and purpose of these events.

Another bonus of these events was that we could invite other industry leaders of business to also offer tips hints and advice to these small business owners and empower them to build their own businesses to enable them to be found in search engines and by attending networking events like the one’s we have been organising.

The Christmas party at Angsana for 2013 is the last event that Register Your Wedding will be co-hosting and organising with MOD Films, Angsana Resort & Spa and Wed In Paradise, for the region as we have a very busy 2014 schedule ahead of us and unfortunately we will no longer have the time to assist and co-ordinate these events so we would like to say thank you to everyone for your support and attendance and we look forward to continuing to Spread The Love for you via Register Your Wedding
