Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival – 3rd November 2013

The popular beachside town of Port Douglas is once again putting athletes to the test on some gruelling but extremely scenic marathons!

All races commence on the 3^rd November 2013 with special guest Steve Moneghetti competing in the self-named marathon. If you’d like to run with an Olympian here is your chance!

•  Ultra Marathon – 74km
• Steve Moneghetti’s Marathon – 42.2km
• Sheraton Mirage Resort Half Marathon – 21.1km
• Newport Daily Run – 10km
• Red Kite Fundy 5000 Race – 5km
• Coles Junior Challenge – 2.5Km

The world class trails will see participants venture through historic rainforests, cane fields, national parks, mountain ranges and the breath taking four mile beach.

Port Douglas restaurant “Lure” is hosting a Pasta Party ($49 includes selection of pastas, sweets, soft drink, juices and teas and coffee) to carb up before the big day and the “Sheraton Mirage” will be throwing a Pool Party to celebrate the completion of the event ($59 includes canapés and welcome drink).

You can participate in the 10km and 5km races as a team.  Sign up individually or come along and support the athletes from the picturesque sidelines.
