Sailing from Port Douglas on a daily basis is the boutique small luxury vessel Synergy carrying 12 pampered guests (not suitable for children under 4 years) out to pristine snorkelling locations around Tongue Reef. This reef is not visited by many day tour boats so the quality of coral is very high as is the number and varieties of marine life, everywhere you look it’s just visual beauty.

Your private charter boat will be awaiting your arrival at the Port Douglas Marina for an 8.30am departure and a morning of smooth motoring to the desired destination of the day which will be decided by the skipper based on his knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef to give you the best reef experience possible.

Synergy The Private Charter Boat

Synergy is 62 feet long with a 30 foot wide beam that enables all guests to move around the boat and provide lots of comfortable relaxation areas like settling down on cushions on the forward deck trampoline and letting the wind blow thru your hair as you sail into the breeze.

At the aft you have some shaded club style seating in a u shape around a table that is very comfortable and conducive for spending some time to sit back relax, have a drink and talk about whatever comes to mind with your fellow travellers.

The saloon inside Synergy is fully air conditioned as would be expected of a luxury private charter boat and also provides two bathrooms for guests to get changed or freshen up for lunch after a morning of snorkelling.

Exploring Australia’s Great Barrier Reef  

After travelling approximately 20 nautical miles you will have reached the day’s destination and you can begin your snorkel adventure. Lycra sun suits, floatation vests and snorkelling gear are all provided and the boats hostess will take you on a guided snorkelling tour initially to show you the best spots on the reef shelf to explore and at the same time she will educate you about the different types of corals and the marine life below the water’s surface.

 

You can spend hours just floating around with a noodle under your arms supporting you above the water’s surface so you can just pop your head under water with your snorkel on as you go along the reef here which is brilliantly alive with colours and all sorts of corals and lots of marine life.

You will not see any land around you and quite possibly no other boats just the beauty of the crystal clear blue azure waters where you can see the reef below the boats deck which is enticing you and teasing you to jump in and enjoy.

You have 3 hours of joy sitting on this reef mooring, just swimming, snorkelling and enjoying some lovely meals and good conversation with your companions

The boats galley is very well equipped to provide 5 star silver service meals and snacks thru the day and the cellar is also quite well stocked with local and imported wines, spirits and pre mixed drinks. Should you have any particular brands of beverage you would like to add to the list please advise us when booking your private charter and we will do our best to cater to your requests.

Whilst on your private charter boat cruise you will be looked after by a hostess that will prepare all the gourmet meals in the galley and then serve them to you on the aft deck starting with morning tea.

At lunch you will begin with an appetizer whilst the skipper cooks your sumptuous barbeque and the hostess sets out all the salads, bread, condiments and fruits at the dining table.

As the salt and sea air makes you very hungry afternoon tea is quite substantial and will consist of various brands of hard and soft cheeses, fresh tropical fruits and a selection of delectable freshly baked cakes and slices.

Sailing Home

As the afternoon draws closer the skipper and hostess begin to prepare your charter boat for the journey back to the marina in Port Douglas.
