Out! Proud! and On NOW! – 17th – 25th August 2013

Cairns Tropical Pride Festival is now in its 7th year. This year the festival runs from 17^th – 25^th August 2013.

This annual event is for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community as well as family and friends wanting to celebrate diversity!

This festival is fast becoming a leading event in the LGBTQ community and this year is set to be bigger and better than ever .The festival is packed with a lot of fun and diverse events and will be wrapping up at the end of next weekend.

Coming up this week

Sat 24^th August – ‘Pride Float in the Cairns Festival Grand Parade’ will be between 5pm to 8pm; the theme for 2013 is “celebrating paradise” and first prize is $5000!!! The pride float won the big prize in 2010!!

Sat 24^th August – ‘Out! Cairns’ Tropical Pride Festival Dance Party’ will be held at the ‘Buddha Bar’ located on the corner of Shields Street and The Esplanade from 8:00pm till late, the entry fee is a $5 and make sure not to miss the spectacular fireworks display from the balcony.

Sun 25^th August – ‘It’s Not Fair! Day’ at Turtle Cove from 11:00am to 7:00pm, $10 will get you entry to this awesome event at this exclusive resort.

The day’s events include: ‘Bingay’ with ‘Terri Cotta’ and ‘Vicki Vegas’, ’The Mariachi Queens’, Women’s Pool Volleyball, The Hot ‘n’ Wet Swing Set, The Cairns Tropical Pride, Community Awards 2013, Destiny Prophet, Gay History in Queensland (A Frivolous Romp) …and lots of prizes and raffles.
