Market Park Fun Fair
Keep the whole family entertained with the Market Park Fun Fair.
What’s included in your afternoon/evening:
- Free entry
- Market Stalls
- Rides
- Street theatre
- Live Entertainment
- Music
This is a great lead up to the much anticipated ‘Street Parade’ on Friday night!
Where: Rex Smeal Park, Port Douglas
When: Friday 16th & 17th May 2014 from 4pm onwards.
Cost: Free Entry

Family Beach Day – 4 Mile Beach, Port Douglas
With a huge line up of events scheduled for the ‘Family Beach Day’ be sure to SLIP SLOP SLAP as you’ll be having fun in the sun all day long.
Check out this epic list of activities:
- The Big Paddle – enter a team by Friday the 16th of May to be part of the ‘Novice Outrigger Regatta’ (8.30am – 12pm)
- Iron Bar Hotel Beach Cricket Competition – enter a team of 6 by Friday the 16th of May to play in the ‘Social Slog’ or the ‘Serious Competition’ (9am)
- Beach Tennis – everyone is welcome to come and play (9am)
- Opening Ceremony – traditional owner ‘Alfred Diamond’ blesses the 2014 ‘Family Beach Day’ (10am)
- Pony Rides – with My Dream Pony ‘Lucy’ (10am – 12pm)
- Kid Zone – join international sand artist ‘Ross Bannister’ who’ll be creating some masterpieces of his own and judging this year’s much loved Sandcastle Competition. Don’t miss the Tug-Of-War and Treasure Hunt (register from 11am).
- Skydiving Display – with incredible beach landings (11am)
Register at 10am at the ‘Kid Zone’ marquee.
In addition to this there will be street theatre, beach busking, a market and food stall set up, bouncy castle, so much fun in 1 day!

Port Douglas Canivale Garden Games
Markets not your scene, no worries pop next door to the Rex Smeal Park and get your backyard sports on! Well known and not so well known sports will be professionally umpired, with adult and child champions being awarded with winner’s medals for points accumulated in their sports of choice. Show off your natural talents in some of the following games:
- Giant Darts
- Giant Jenga
- Rollers (think lawn bowls)
- Bocce
- Feed the Goat (a mix of all footy codes)
Enter the sporting arena with a gold coin donation and you have all the chances in the world to walk away as champion of one of the above challenges. That is champion for an entire year!
Where: Rex Smeal Park, Port Douglas.
When: Sunday 18th May 2014 from 10am onwards
Cost: Gold coin donation on entry to the sports arena and free sign up for all games.
Port Douglas Carnivale Golf Day
2014’s Golf Day will be played as a one day event. The after tournament entertainment ‘Jazz on the Green’ is still be organised, stay tuned for details.
Where: Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club, Old Port Road, Port Douglas
When: Friday 23rd May 2014, 10am tee off
Cost: $135 per player / members $75 per player / group = 4 x individual price
