Top 5 Ways to Watch the Palm Cove New Year’s Eve Fireworks 2018

Palm Cove’s annual New Year’s Eve fireworks have doubled!

This year there will be two fireworks displays to blast their way off the jetty. An earlier time of 8pm and at 12pm midnight on the 31^st of December 2018. Cairns Holiday Specialists and Palm Cove community members, residents, other local businesses and Cairns Regional Council all donated generously to ensure the annual fireworks went off with a bang! So let’s support the community by spending our New Year’s Eve partying in Palm Cove paradise!

Wondering what way is best to view the colourful night display? Check out these tips to guarantee a fabulous night!

1. Book dinner in one of the fantastic restaurants along Williams Esplanade, reserve a table early and you may be able to get a  table out the front or on a second story terrace and if you time it just right you’ll be enjoying the show with some kind of delicious dessert in hand
2. Get your mates together for a ‘Palm Cove Crawl’ start at the southern end of the Esplanade and work your way towards the jetty stopping in for a bevy and a nibble at many of the bars, cafes and restaurants
3. Get out your picnic rugs and hampers and do it beach style. This can be very romantic or if the romance has led to children, what better than to let them run wild on the shoreline
4. Get in early and nab a BBQ site along the Esplanade, have a traditional Aussie dinner and be in the perfect spot ready for the fireworks
5.  If you are lucky enough to have a sea view from your hotel/resort, order in! Pick up a bottle of bubbles from the Palm Cove Tavern and chill on the balcony. If you are not on the Esplanade side of the resort, befriend someone who is or pop on down to the esplanade to mingle with the masses.
