‘Unit’s Jet Ski Fund Run’ – 16th November 2013

This annual Jet Ski fundraiser held on November the 16^th 2013 will see participants jet skiing their way from Cairns to Fitzroy Island in a bid to raise money for the Cairns Oncology Unit.  Last year $11,659 was raised for this event that is named in memory of Brian ‘Unit’ Wilson, a Cairns hospital cancer patient and one of the original organisers. The funds raised will help to furnish the ‘Tranquility Room’ which allows patients and their loved ones to spend some time away from the in-ward patient setting.

Registered and insured Jet Skis and their owners are encouraged to join the plight by fundraising at least $300 each and join the group ride to the beautiful Fitzroy Island for some fun on shore activities before returning for the presentation event at The Salt House.  A $60 (early bird special increases November 1st to $75) entry fee includes breakfast in Cairns, lunch at Fitzroy Island, pre organised beach activities and the presentation night where the organisers will award prizes to the highest fundraisers for 2013.
