Palm Cove Reef Feast delivers a yummier line up of foodie activities delivered to you over the first two weeks of October. A unique line up of events, tours, markets are offered in this year’s foodie celebrations to promote and honour the amazing local produce that Far North Queensland has to offer.  Leave room for the Gourmet Market Day the most anticipated event of the week that sees the local culinary talent lining the beach front Esplanade selling delicious tastier size morsels from their pop up kitchens.

Launch of the Reef Feast week with amazing displays of islander dancing, fire eating and coconut cracking.

Located at the Northern end of the Palm Cove Esplanade at the car park next to the jetty from 4pm to 8pm. Come and peruse unique local crafts, gifts and produce at this seaside market place. All welcome.

Prawns on the Jetty, Palm Cove Jetty (twilight/evening)

Located straight across from the markets on the Palm Cove Jetty you’ll find fresh North Queensland Prawns, buy them straight off the trawlers and enjoy these delicious large crustaceans with a little lemon and a cool sea breeze. All welcome.

Instameet World Record Attempt

Meet at 8am at the Palm Cove Jetty for Instameet part of the state-wide attempt to break a word record. Don’t forget to bring your phone/tablet and use #thisisqueensland and let the world see Reef Feast.

TNQ Beer Awards

To all the beer creators out there put your best beer forward. The annual TNQ beer awards invite commercial craft/boutique and homebrew beer in 7 categories. Winners from each category will have their beers promoted and have it matched to cuisine by experts and distributed to the Palm Cove Restaurants. Beers from finalists will be available for tasting by the public at the beer tent on the Tastes of Paradise day! Celebrate at the Palm Cove Tavern with live music by ‘Heartaches and Roller-skates’ see you there 5pm to 8pm in the Beer Garden.

Regional Food Trail Tours

This corporate event organised by Tourism Palm Cove invites golfers of all abilities to form groups of 4 and play an Ambrose format at Half Moon Bay Golf Club, Yorkey’s Knob. Winners receive the ‘Wayne Lapthorne Memorial Cup’. Tee off at 11am.

Hook and Cook Reef Day

Spend the day fishing on the Great Barrier Reef. This exclusive charter vessel supplies quality fishing tackle, bait, lunch and non-alcoholic drinks. Bring your own alcohol (no glass please) relax and don’t let the “one” get away because the chef’s at the Reef House and Peppers Palm Cove will cook your catch (extra charge) with options of whole or fillets and a selection of delicious sides!

An afternoon of local fashions, soothing afternoon tunes by ‘Rhys Tolhurst’, delicious traditional High Tea with sweet and savoury canapés catered by Nu Nu restaurant, accompanied by heavenly teas and chilled champers. Hosted by the Sarayi Hotel on their tree top deck with sea views, it is the perfect excuse to dress up and have fun with your best girlfriends.

Feast Palm Cove Celebration

Williams Esplanade is turned into a music festival and foodies haven from 4pm to 9pm with a range of musical acts and pop up kitchens stretching all the way down the beachfront. Local restaurants will have created specialty dishes from local produce to compliment the night’s celebrations that are available for purchase. Bring your deck chairs and picnic blankets and sit under the Palm Trees whilst you drink, eat and be merry. The Feast’s music line-up includes the following:

Gourmet Market Day

The much anticipated family event of the week is the Gourmet Market Day where Palm Cove Restaurants and Cafes take to the streets to tempt the crowds in buying delicious taste size food creations from their pop up kitchens. Mix scrumptious fare with entertainment from the Cairns Ukulele Club, Street Performers, Karl Edwards Acoustic Artists and Silktones Duo Acoustic. Kitchens open approx. 8am till 2pm with most plates costing around $10.00, fun for all ages and palates.

Rotary Duck Race

Located on the Palm Cove beachfront the race raises funds for the Rotary.
